  • The popular Wayne Roderick Lecture series of free public lectures, on a broad array of topics related to plants and natural history, has returned. The series takes place on Saturday mornings starting at 10:30 AM and begin at the Garden’s Visitor Center auditorium. The schedule for 2023-4 is:

  • Sunday, Nov 5, 2023 2:00 p.m. Join us for a free, docent-led, family-friendly tour. Play the traditional Miwok game of staves, grind acorns, and wash your hands with soap root.

    You will see Native American artifacts and the plants used to make them. Meet at the Visitor Center. Rain cancels.

  • The Botanic Garden sells plants and seeds at the Potting Shed each Wednesday in May from 10-noon and the 1st Saturday of May and June from 10-2. At other times, you can purchase seeds at the Visitor Center.

  • Join our knowledgeable docents for free guided tours of the garden on non-rainy Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (except New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day).

    Saturdays – 2 pm
    Sundays – 11 am & 2 pm
    Holidays – 2 pm

    Meet at the Visitor’s Center.

    Tours usually last about an hour and are appropriate for both adults and children. You can leave a tour at any time. No reservations are needed.  Tours are limited to a maximum of 10 people.

  • The Regional Parks Botanic Garden is accepting applicants for our 2024 docent training class.  The purpose of the training is to help participants develop the knowledge and skills necessary to lead Garden tours and to greet visitors. The next class runs from January 10 to June 26, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday mornings.

  • Join us for a fee-based floral arrangement workshop using California native plants. You’ll be working hands-on with a variety of California native plants and learning about flower composition, the basics of bouquet arranging, wrapping a bouquet, and flower care.   • A special summer plant sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16th. The featured plants will be various  Diplacus which are blooming beautifully right now. Also blooming and for sale will be Eriophyllum, Helenium bigelovii, Eschscholzia californica and Heterotheca villosa. We will also have lots of Asclepias and Dudleya, and a fair amount of Lupinus albifrons that are looking good and ready to be sold right now.
